The Website Design Process

ADM Web Studios believe that client involvement in the website design process is of paramount importance, however, the way we work with our clients allows them to be involved as little or as much as they choose, depending on their own level of expertise and of course time restrictions.

  • Client Brief

A meeting between ADM Web Studios and the client is arranged for an initial discussion and to brainstorm about the website design, functionality, budget and timing requirements. This can be done in person, through email or telephone.

  • Proposal

A proposal is compiled by ADM Web Studios, after collating the full client brief, which details web and graphic design ideas, amount of pages, self updateable sections, the final price, and the production processes required to achieve the end result.

  • Project Approval

Once the client is satisfied with ADM Web Studios proposal, a deposit payment is required in order to secure our services and to commence with the website design.

  • Domain Name Registration & Website Hosting Setup

You may already have a domain name and a web host. If this is the case, we will ask you for information that will allow us to access your web hosting account.

If you have not already chosen a domain name, we often assist clients in choosing a domain name and if you wish, we will even register the domain name for you. We also offer web hosting services (at an additional cost).
  • Design of Website Template

The website layout/template is designed and presented to the client. This will be .jpg image of what the final design will look like. Clients will be sent an email with the mock-up designs of the website.

The website design mock-up requires client input. Once we present it, we expect our clients to take a long hard look and then provide feedback as to what they would like changed.

After this feedback, we make any necessary adjustments to the design until the final design has been chosen.

Only when a final design has been agreed by both ADM Web Studios and the Client, will the development stage of the website begin.

  • Website Development

The developmental stage is the point where the website itself is created. At this time, ADM Web Studios will take all of the individual graphic elements from the design and use them to create the actual, functional site.

This is typically done by first developing the home page, followed by a “framework” for the content pages. The framework serves as a template for the content pages of your website, as it contains the main navigational structure for the website. Elements such as interactive contact forms, flash animations or ecommerce shopping carts are implemented and made functional during the development stage.

Once the framework has been created, the client will be emailed a web link to view the progress of the working website on our test server. By viewing the website on the test server, clients can see the website being developed

The client supplies the content to us for placement in the web pages in either plain text format or in Microsoft Word. ADM Web Studios will then take your content and distribute it throughout the website, in the appropriate areas.

  • Testing & Evaluation

At this point, ADM Web Studios will attend to the final details and test your website. We test things such as the complete functionality of forms or other scripts, as well last testing for last minute compatibility issues (viewing differences between different web browsers), ensuring that your website is optimized to be viewed properly in the most recent browser versions.

  • Final Delivery

Once the client gives ADM Web Studios final approval, it is time to deliver the website. On receipt of final payment, the website is uploaded to the server and given one last run-through. This is just precautionary, to confirm that all files have been uploaded correctly, and that the website continues to be fully functional.

This marks the official launch of your website, as it is now viewable to the public.

SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and SES (Search Engine Submission). This is the optimization of you website with elements such as title, description and keyword tags which help your website achieve higher rankings in the search engines. Search Engine Optimisation and Search Engine submission will occur only after the final payment has been received.

  • Training & Future Website Maintenance

If you prefer to be more hands on, and update your own content, there is something called a CMS (Content Management System) that can be integrated into your website. This is something that would be decided upon during the Client Brief stage.

A website driven by a CMS gives you the ability to edit the content areas of the website yourself. You are given access to a back-end administrative area, where you can use an online text editor (similar to a mini version of Microsoft Word). You’ll be able to edit existing content this way, you can even add new pages and content yourself.

CMS Website training can be provided by ADM Web Studios.

If you prefer ADM Web Studios to make the changes, we will be happy to put a website maintenance package in place or charge you on an hourly basis as and when you need modifications.

Whatever method of maintenance you choose, ADM Web Studios is dedicated to making sure your website is a success for the long term, and will always be a phone call away.
